A second Single Champion title joins Howtian's list of accolades, cementing its place at the center of the global inositol supply chain
4 Sep 2026

Howtian’s inositol business has been officially recognized as a Shandong Provincial Manufacturing Single Champion.

The Shandong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology recently released its list of enterprises for the 10th Batch of Manufacturing Single Champions, and Howtian earned its place with its inositol offering. It is the company’s second provincial-level Single Champion title, following its earlier recognition for steviol glycosides. The back-to-back accreditations reflect Howtian’s industry-leading strength across both niche segments.

A Two-Decade Foundation

In selecting manufacturers with deep expertise in various product categories, the Single Champion evaluation weighs not just market share, but technical competence and industry influence. The criteria includes leading‑edge production technologies, strong market performance, R&D innovation capability, and operational compliance.

For more than twenty years, Howtian has developed and refined its manufacturing focus on inositol, building a complete industrial chain that spans from raw materials to finished products. The company holds a suite of management-system certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000 and HACCP, and offers a full-series product portfolio serving food, feed, pharmaceutical, and other applications.

Backed by a rigorous quality management system and sustained process innovation, Howtian has become a trusted, long-term supplier to some of the world’s most recognized enterprises, including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Danone, Nestlé, Red Bull, Mead Johnson and Cargill of the United States. This customer roster speaks to the company’s indispensable role in the global inositol supply chain.

Innovation at the Core

A particular point of distinction is Howtian’s self-developed co-production technology for inositol and potassium dihydrogen phosphate, appraised by national authorities as reaching an internationally advanced level. The corresponding R&D project has been approved under the Shandong Major Innovation Project, and the resulting potassium dihydrogen phosphate product marks a major breakthrough in the plant-derived sector.

Howtian’s inositol has further been designated a National Patent-Intensive Product and a High-Quality Featured Food of Shandong Province. Underpinning it all is a robust intellectual property portfolio with more than 120 invention patents filed around inositol, 46 of them already granted.

Looking Ahead

The Single Champion title is as much a milestone as a starting point. It recognizes 27 years of Howtian’s commitment to a simple standard of craftsmanship: “Either do not start, or strive for first-class results.” The honor comes with high expectations for what’s next.

Going forward, Howtian will continue to invest in its natural extract business, building on its scale advantages and expanding its share of the global market. Driven by continued technological innovation, the company will accelerate the upgrade of its product portfolio toward higher-value offerings.
